Making money with freedom to pursue your passion.
I had been rather busy. I had a really exciting time during the weekend doing what I really enjoy doing, talking to people about how to improve their lives. I have a personal conviction of trying to help people improve their lives, by taking personal decisions on what it will take them to get to their desired dreams and following that dream up with action! Little wonder that I have started following up this dream of mine despite the hectic schedule of medical practice and post graduate training.
This time around as you would have known if you are following this blog, we are dealing with the issue of getting some extra cool income through the instrumentality of a rather relatively new travel club called holidays and cash. So we are running this weekly seminar on this opportunity which we started in December. We also use the opportunity to talk about our other services. So the last seminar was well attended (It is a mini-seminar of two sessions each Saturday i.e 10.00am, and 12.00noon). I believe that this is due to the fact that our advertising team led by my wife combed the commercial area of Jos distributing our fliers. Moreover, people are now back to the reality of normal daily life after the festive period.
So, a good number of our prospects registered immediately especially when my upline, Simeon Okoro came with a copy of the e-mail e got from Michael Faust on the forth coming Leadership event coming up in Egypt which he qualified for. He went ahead to show to the participants the uniqueness of the opportunity by displaying openly online his own membership area and the reward he has enjoyed. It was a powerful marketing tool. The participants were really excited and just went on to register immediately! Little wonder that Michael Faust said in one of his training videos that you don't need to try and convince people really, but you just send them to your membership site and let the videos, PowerPoint presentations, flip charts etc do the marketing! Such an enormous quality and quantity of resources.
I also had the privilege of showing the opportunity to a number of friends who were around in my house on Sunday. I really had a busy weekend you will say. It was exciting though, because I was enjoying myself educating people about a really great idea, doing the work of a motivator and teacher at the same time, and making money too. WHO SAYS YOU CAN'T WORK AND PLAY?
Another rewarding angle to this network marketing thing became obvious to me today though when I met and instantly became friend with a missionary as we engaged in a discuss. He was really excited about the prospects of the opportunity which as he said best suits his kind of person. Moreover, the fact that their are no goods or wares to be carrying around, but that we market a service which really adds value to people's lives really excited him. However, the rewarding area I am trying to emphasize is the ease with which we got it off. We became instant friends of a sort. Network marketing makes you build a lot of network of friends which cam even be of help in your original endeavour! Talk about 'getting connections' as we say it in Nigeria. Moreover he pointed out to me that he discovered that I did my consultation with his sister and him with a lot of passion and compassion. He believes the fact that I do network marketing will help build a source of wealth which will allow me to focus on the humane part of medical practice. I will not cut corners to make money off patients but will rather do the work because I love it.
I never thought of it that way before.

Holidays and Cash; an incredibly low way of starting your own business.
We were still suppose to be on break and to resume the weekly seminar on the 10th of January.However, during the week we received a text message telling us that the sender was going to attend the seminar on Saturday 3rd of January.So we had to put up something despite the fact that the office was still technically on break and my wife and I had to do all the job.
It was a rewarding time despite the fact that the turn up was poor due to the fact that we didn't do any publicity and some of our clients later expressed surprise on learning about it.So, the Weekly seminar kicked off on that note naturally by itself and our network is gradually growing.
The beauty of the programme was further highlighted as a friend visited with his wife and kid.While we did not delibrately intend to turn a social visit into a business meeting,the topic inevitable turned into one when the usual complain of unpaid arrears of CONTISS salary of about 16 months ensued.Of course we had to talk about alternative ways of making money even if it is on part-time basis for us.There and then I introduced the business concept to my friend and went online to show him the online portal and the vast resources in the membership site.
As it were, I had to highlight some of the importance of this business opportunity.I pointed out to my friend the fact that we have been training for years.First with undergraduate training which lasted longer than necessary and then the present post graduate specialist training.The investment hed been enormous.Despite this we still have to fight seriously for what should normally have been given to us.Surely, is it not appauling that you have to do your normal work of caring for patients, do your academic work of studying, seminar presentation, and other activities in the department and yet have to fight to get your renumeration as it is due to you? I think it is an abuse of our fundamental human right. However nobody sees it as such. It is as if they are doing us a favour.It is very frustrating!
However, like I pointed out to my friend, network marketing affords the opportunity of starting a business with very little capital indeed.The capital is the amount that is used to register into the programme and the training period is very short. Networking to an all expenses paid vacation;Holiday and Cash way.
The year kicked off today after the traditional new year public holiday.The town was still a little dull as most shops were still locked especially as it was a Friday and people were already thinking of the weekend.I was at work and the number of patients were still few.A good number of them were discharged after the Jos crises and the influx into the hospital have not reached the pre-crises level.So after seeing the few patients and doing some personal errants in town I was about to start heading home when I suddenly remembered Simeon Okoro!Surely I must see Simeon Okoro before I start heading back to NIPSS where I live.
Now Simeon Okoro is a businessman cum undergraduate. He is a matured married man with kids by the way, and he has been in business for some time before he remembered he has to get a degree to at least get that level as education.But my interest in this young man is not because he is getting a degree nor because he is even running a business but because of the type of business he is running.
Presently he has made himself into a consultant of a sort and mentor to a lot of people.He has introduced a lot of people to his line of business and had made sure that they succeed.He has really imbibed the spirit of the business and is trying to epitomize it.He has made into into a friend to his teeming customers rather than just a business associate.He has built many a healthy relationships with a number of people along the way.
In March he will be on his way to Egypt for an all expenses paid 5-day leisure trip which comes as a reward for excelling in his chosen line of business.He qualified for this despite giving much time to make sure that his customers or downlines succeed rather than trying to get every thing for himself.
The leadership event is a reward initiative of the International company Holidays and Cash which is involved in the multi-billion dollar industry Travel and Leisure industry. The company soft-launched in July last year and full launch was in October,and in those few months the success story has been phenomenum.The company uses the old proven word of mouth method to market its product(The Privilege Pack) instead of conventional advertising.In the process they provide their customers a cheap way of starting their business in the interesting world of marketing,with special emphasis on network marketing.
Now, a good number of people have had some bad experiences about some network marketing companies in the past and as such have shut their minds to the concept.Some of these people are sincere people who actually think they are justified in their judgement on the issue.But it must be said that it would been better if they are more open and viewed the issues in light of the possible explanations.Some of these companies that failed them could simply have failed just like the stock markets all over the world are crashing and no one calls them fraudulent!
Well, back to my friend Simeon Okoro. When I saw him today he cut the picture of someone who had been very busy and a little stressed.That was because he was trying ti fix his personal building to be fit for him to live in after the recent Jos crisis.
